how to remove glitter nail polish

I love with all my life glitter nail polish and in fact my all time favorite is one (OPI's Mad as a Hatter). But it couldn't be so perfect because if i have used one then you know how freaking difficult is to remove them. With nail polish remover, acetone or just scrapping... every method is difficult, time consuming and hurts your nails. But, blogs to the rescue! I first saw this useful tip on Gem's blog and i love it! Since i removed my nail polish today i thought that i could take a few pictures and share with you guys :).

Amo los esmaltes de glitter con todo mi ser y de hecho mi favorito es uno (Mad as a Hatter de OPI). Pero no podía ser tan perfecto porque si han usado uno sabrán lo difícil que es sacarlos. Ya sea con quita esmalte, acetona o solo rasparlo... todos los métodos son difíciles, largos y lastiman las uñas. Pero, blogs al rescate! La primera vez que vi este tip fue en el blog de Gem y lo amé! Como me iba a sacar el esmalte hoy aproveché de sacar unas cuantas fotos y compartirlo con ustedes :).


What we'll need:
Nail polish remover / Quita esmalte
Cotton pad (cut in fourths) / Discos de algodón (cortado en cuarto)
Foil / Papel aluminio


Take one of the pads and soak it in nail polish remover. If you want it to be extra effective you could try acetone but i DON'T RECOMMEND it! It's very bad for your nails and cuticles.
Toma uno de los discos y remójalo en quita esmalte. Si quieres que sea extra efectivo podrías usar acetona pero yo NO LO RECOMIENDO! Es bastante malo para las uñas y cutículas.


Place it on your nail.
Ponla sobre tu uña.


Wrap your finger with the foil and make sure the pad is tight to your nail.
Envuelve tu dedo con el papel aluminio y asegúrate que esté bien apretado con tu uña.


Continue with all your fingers. Personally i like doing this with a lot of time to spare so i can do one hand at a time (it's always nice to have one free to change the channels or use the computer lol). When you're finished just wait! My 100% glitter nail polished usually require of 10 minutes of waiting but this one (Essence - Time for Romance) needed a little more because it has polish and different glitter sizes.
Continua con los demás dedos. Personalmente me gusta hacer esto cuando tengo mucho tiempo libre para hacer una mano a la vez (siempre es bueno tener una libre para cambiar los canales o usar el computador jajaja). Cuando termines solo queda esperar. Con los esmaltes que son 100% glitter normalmente toman 10 minutos es estar listos pero como el que yo usé (Essence - Time for Romance) tiene esmalte y glitter de diferente tamaños requirió un poco más de tiempo.


After those minutes it's time to remove it. Press the foil firmly to your nail and like that, pull it. Continue with all the fingers.
Después de esos minutos es hora de sacarlo. Presiona tu uña firmemente y de este modo tíralo. Haz esto con todos los dedos.


A lot better... but we're not over.
Mucho mejor... pero esto no ha terminado.


If the glitter was not removed completely you can clean it with a cotton ball with nail polish remover. You'll see that it's 100 times easier compared to what it would be if you haven't done the foil trick.
Si el glitter no salió completamente puedes limpiarlo con un algodón con quita esmalte. Verás que ahora es 100 veces más fácil de sacar que antes de hacer este truco.

After doing all this i recommend treating your nails with cuticle oil or cream because this will dry them quite a lot. I really hope that this will help you to find glitter nail polishes more friendly. If you have a question just ask or you can just look for this on youtube because i've seen a ton of videos lol.

Después de hacer todo esto recomiendo tratar tus uñas con crema o aceite para cutículas porque esto las dejará muy resecas. De verdad espero que les haya servido y que también puedan encontrar los esmaltes de glitter más amigables.
