I've been eying this nail polish since they're selling Essence here and i finally bought it. I'm a huge fan of burgundy, pink and glitter and seeing all that in one nail polish was a miracle i couldn't believe. It's opaque in 3 coats but i used 4 because i'm crazy.

P.S: Anyone is obsessing over The Hunger Games? I just finishes the first book and saw the trailer and i think i'm gonna die lol. I can't wait to see the movie and read the other books.

This time we have a double inspiration. 1. All those freakin youtube videos i've seen where girls feature their favorite spring polishes. 2. Miss Kika's gorgeous nails and of course the lovely colors she uses on her art. Even though we are entering fall here and the logic dictates that i should use a different color palette instead of pastels... i just couldn't help it! I used a coat of Revlon's Sparkle over everything because it seems that for me this colors weren't gay enough. I really liked how they looked with the top i wore yesterday.

Esta vez tenemos una doble inspiración. 1. Todos el esos videos de youtube donde las niñas muestran sus esmaltes favoritos para primavera. 2. Las hermosas uñas de Miss Kika y por supuesto que los colores que usa en sus trabajos. Aunque aquí estamos entrando al otoño y la lógica dicta que debería usar una paleta de colores diferente... pues no pude resistirlo! Usé una capa de Sparkle de Revlon sobre todo porque aparentemente estos colores no eran lo suficientemente gay. Me gustó mucho como se veían con el top que usé ayer.

A friend asked me to replicate Zooey Deschanel's nails from this tweet but i wanted so take the next step and do something different. I used this picture as a guide and went all Justin Bieber on them with a dark purple base (i thought that black was a little too harsh since it's still summer here). I really liked them and i've got a lot of compliments :).

Una amiga me pidió si podía imitar las uñas que Zooey Deschanel tweeteó pero quise llevarlo al siguiente nivel. Usé esta foto como guía y me les dí todo el look Justin Bieber con una base morado oscuro (negro me pareció un poco tosco ya que todavía es verano aquí). Me gustaron muchísimo y he recibido muchos elogios :).

Even though the days here are hotter than ever we can't stop the fact that soon we'll be freezing cold. This is a small wishlist of things i'd love to add to my wardrobe to wear during those few that i can layer clothes and not hide them under a coat.

A strawberry Pocky box i brought from my trip in Santiago... it's life was short, very short. • My new hair color (which isn't actually new because this is my real shade: dark brown). • Cocktails with my friends :). I had a mango daikiri. • Went to the hairdresser again to make the ombre style more visible so she bleached my ends. • Tried for the first time some weird flavors of this greek yogurt. I'm still not sure about the colour of the mocasins (navy) but i thought that they would look pretty cute with jeans. And as for the slippers, i'm in love!!!!! The colour and the studs are so beautiful and they're also comfortable.

I know i said i was going to do a video but i went to the hairdresser yesterday and i'm not 100% happy with the colour she did so instead of waiting i just went ahead and took some pictures. I went to small shopping trip to Santiago (Chile) this weekend and i had the most amazing time. I bought a lot of things so i'm planning on doing a video because if i take pictures it'll take me forever. I also visited some lovely places and ate lots of yummy food (i finally tried macarons!). I didn't take a lot of pictures but here are some.

Este fin de semana fui a Santiago para tener un pequeño shopping trip y la pasé super bien. Compré por montones así que tengo planeado hacer un video para mostrárselas porque si les saco fotos me tomará para siempre. It's up to you how you spend this day. I don't have a boyfriend but i get lots of love from my friends and family so i won't be trying to kill myself with ice-cream and movies (The Notebook anyone?). But every day is a good excuse to do some nail art. I got inspired by this photo and the colours by this amazing glittery China Glaze nail polish (thank you Andrea!♥).

Es cosa tuya como pases este día al fin y al cabo. I'm doing a a-photo-a-day project since the beginning of the year and i thought that i could post here the pictures as well so that when i'm out of things to say or show you can still know i'm alive. Inspired by Michelle i'll post them on Sundays and they will be with the pictures from the previous Sunday to that Saturday. And the title of the post is the number of the week in the year.

Sunday: Being a fotolog bitch and taking pictures of myself lol. I wanted to see how i looked with curls :). • Monday: Bought a pair of jeggings from Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez. I loved them!!! They're so freakin comfortable. • Tuesday: Worked all day on my uni profect. It's supposed to be a very weird seat lol. • Wednesday: The finished thing. Took the pictures to show them to my professor. • Thursday: Another day working hard but this time for my computer class. I have to do an animation in After Effects. • Friday: Had a correction of my video and my summer vacations started oficially! :D Went out with my friends and bought this feather clips. • Saturday: The weirdest of days! There were fires all over my city and ashes were flying everywhere.

It's summer sale season in my country and even though some of the stores don't really understand what that means i managed to go to one that had really inexpensive and cute stuff. I can't wait to style them :).

Terrible picture but the blouse is very shimmery so i guess that kinda messed up my camera. I didn't bought this one in discount but i couldn't help it because i've been looking for something like this. I love the colour and i can't wait to wear it during fall with leggings or skinny jeans.

My supermarket came with the Selena Gomez collection and even though it's for girls i still found something i liked and that fitted lol. It's hard to take pictures of pants but here you can see them better. They're the most comfortable jeggings EVER!

Now with the real things from the sale! I choose this t-shirt because it's really cute, simple and comfortable. I'm trying to buy more stuff like this for those days that i'm not in the mood of dressing up but i have to wear clothes because it's ilegal to go around naked lol.

I've been looking for a black skirt for ages! It's a basic for the skirt and dress lover. It's nice to know that now i have something that will look good with almost almost all my shirts.

I fell in love with this one! Even though i have no idea what to wear underneath lol.

More fall clothes. I loved the colour and the print. It's looks a little bit boxy on me but that's the price you pay when buying things on sale (no sizes). Still, i think will look cute with skinny jeans.

essence haul

I'm not used to doing hauls with only one brand or hauls at all really lol. The thing is that i don't go out and buy lots of things at once but this time was a big exception. A drugstore opened really near my house and the first day and went there (total coincidence) and i almost died when i saw that they carried Essence! After so many years reading Nihrida's blog i couldn't wait to try a few things. I bought almost all i wanted but they were out of the eyebrow pencil so i have an excuse to return ;).

Stay With Me - Me&My Icecream: This was something i've been in the search for for ages! Just a normal with no glitter or shimmer pink lipgloss. Even though i'm not used to the rounded applicator i'm really happy with the formula.

Make It Golden, Choose Me!, Viva La Green: Oh, you know i couldn't go there and not but nail polish lol. I will make separate posts with swatches of these but so far i'm loving the colours.

Quattro - To Die For: I bought i long time ago a trio of eyeshadows in similar colours but the littlest one was 0 pigmented. These are ok and i think that every girl should own a palette like this. It's perfect for your everyday look and all in one little place.

All Eyes On Me: I have to admit that i bought this one because it was so inexpensive lol. I'm not a person that likes having lots of opened mascaras at the same time because their life is so short (it's said that you have to throw them away in 3 months) but the other i had is waterproof and i wanted one that was easier to take off on lazy days. I haven't used it yet but i'll probably do a review later on.

Forget It!: This is something i was excited for! It's a 3 in one concealer but i was more interested in the green one. That part is supposed to help hiding redness, beige is for blemishes and pink for under eye circles. I used it yesterday but i wasn't in my best moment lol so i'll have to give it another try so i can do a proper review.

I♥Stage: Another product i've been in the look for ages: an eyeshadow primer. There's not a single brand in my country that carries this stupid things so imagine my surprise lol. It applies quite nice and the colour suits me perfectly because it also evens out the colour of my eyelids (in the little photo it looks more similar to the real thing, the bottle one turned out too light).

Being in classes in the middle of the summer because of a freakin strike is driving me crazy. Fortunately i have vacations on February. To feel a little bit more in summer (and to prevent me from killing all the tourists) i did this nail art. My first try on palm trees was here and nothing really changed except for the colours. The background is Orly's Blue Collar and on top i sponged yellow acrylic paint.

May be you have noticed that i changed my layout... or not? ;D All this because i wanted to be able to reply to comments and i couldn't in my old template. I'm still not sure if i like this one but at least it's a little bit more clean than the other one.

I thought this blog deserved some new nail art so i started searching for inspiration. I came across this post and loved it! Even though it's super simple i haven't seen this design before and the colour combination is really pretty. I could probably have done a better job but if we consider that i photographed my right hand (i ruined almost all the nails on my left one), that i was attacked by my cat (picture here) and that the hot weather is making my hands look like a snake changing skin they're pretty damn good! lol

David Guetta's Summer Tour

Yesterday i went to David Guetta's concert! I was so excited because it was the first (important) concert in my city, for all the others i had to go to Santiago (2 hour trip). I had so much fun with my friends and even though it was full people we still managed to dance lol. My favorite part was when he played this song ♥.

Would you go to a David Guetta concert? I'm not a big fan of electronic music and DJs but his songs feature some amazing artists so i really like them.

But sadly it's true because even though it's pure and holy summer here i'm still in class because of the strike we had. And i live by the beach so imagine the torture that is watching all those people having fun while i'm driving to university lol. Ok, but the important thing here is that i'm alive and i wanted to wish you all an awesome year! I'll try make some time for new nail arts and try to venture into new kinds of posts like outfit pictures, reviews and things like that. Oh and one last thing. 2011's manicure madness

Unfortunately i don't have pictures in my blog of the manicures i did from january to march because i used to upload them with blogspot and it seems that they aren't there anymore :/ since i noticed i'm uploading them to photobucket. Oh well, i still have some old ones in my nail polish tumblr if you want to see them. I think that this year was very exciting in nail art matters :) i tried lots of new designs, did a manicurist course and now i'm a professional manicurist! It's good to have a plan B if my designer career doesn't work lol.

For my Christmas themed manicure i tried before a snowman one but it ended looking awful! The topcoat was like water so it smudged everything and the white nail polish it's a little bit old. So i changed it in like a day and i decided to go safe and try one of the designs from this nail wheel. It was soooo hard to draw them on my right hand! But it was worth it because i loved the end result :). I feel so festive! lol I still don't know if i'll stay with these ones or try another design for Christmas Eve (the actual Christmas Day isn't a thing here in Chile)... maybe snowflakes? That would be funny if we think that it's already summer here!

With Gem Fatale's last post i remembered my all time favorite gift idea. I really don't know why i forgot if i do it every year lol. Since this time of the year are difficult in time and money matters i'll give you a tip that will save you both and also will help you get simple but unique gifts. What i do is just buy lots of brown paper (they're super cheap!) and wrap my gift with that. The fun part comes with the gift tags. I like printing my own in sticker paper so i just have to peal and stick. I match the ribbon colour with the one from the tag :). There are lots of fun holiday tag ideas for free on the internet but here are my favorites:

I finish my manicure classes this friday and i'm so excited! This was the second nail wheel i made and was inspired by christmas, halloween and easter. As you can see, i love holidays and they're always a nice inspiration for doing nail art. I still have one more wheel to show you guys but that will be for when i get them back because i left them at my institute (they had to grade them).

No one in my family (not even Santa lol) is a millionaire so i probably won't be getting any of these things but i can dream. I also love seeing other girls wishlists so if you posted one give me the link :).

Mac Book: WHAT?! lol My laptop is a piece of crap and since i study graphic design that's not a good thing at all.
iPhone: This will always be in my wishlist because i'm sure i'll never have one because they're so freaking expensive! But i love them! Any model works for me but my favorite is the 4S in white (obviously!).
Slippers: The one thing that i'm going to get because i'm going to buy them for myself. Not the ones in the photo but i hope that i can find a pretty pair (anything is better than my old ones that where attacked by spiders D:).
Lady Million gift Set: Have you ever seen a prettier bottle? I think i only want it to decorate my room lol.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 DVD: I have all the other movies and of course i need this one ;). It would't kill me if someone also buys me a blu ray or a 3D tv lol.
Mario 3D Land: Since i bought my N3DS i haven't played a single game in 3D because i don't have the money to buy one lol. It would be nice to see the wonders of 3D.
Manicure Suitcase: The institute where i have my manicure classes sell this lovely pink suitcase that would be really helpful when i go to work.
Owl Bookends: Super random, i know! These awesome bookends are by Laura Ashley (my favorite interior decoration store!) and would look perfect to hold all my books in my room.
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead: I'm a HUGE Vampire Academy fan and i feel the need to read this spin-off. I read the first chapter online months ago and i think i'm dying lol. Oh and fyi, i read this kind of books in english because i buy them from Amazon. I don't really like reading in spanish... i'm weird.

I recently bought Orly - Rage and i'm seriously in love! The colour is something i've never seen before (looks like what you'd get when mixing brown, gold, pink and a buket of glitter) and the quality is amazing. I've seen looks of girls feature this polish in their "winter favorites" but we're almost in summer here and i can tell you that it's a colour that works all year long. It shines like a mirror under sun light!

Simple but unexpensive. I love the colour and i think that i'll be getting all the others they had. • Bought this necklace to use it with plain coloured t-shirts. I love the feathers. • Heart earings. • I have been looking for cute feather earings for ages! I love this ones because i imagine wearing them with my hair down. • Just bought them today. I'm already wearing the swallow ones and i loved the pale pink colour (they came also in turquoise but this one is more wearable).
Two new accesory stores opened near my house and they're going to be my curse lol. Funny thing here is that i bought more earings but i rarely wear them! I have tiny hoops in my other holes but in the "regular" ones i never wear anything because even the most expensive earing gives me allergies :(. But i'm determined to wear all these so i'll just have to get used to having itchy ears lol (beauty hurts?).

As you can see i'm not a normal person when it comes to nail art lol. From all the japanese magazine scans i've collected i was more interested in trying one from this page. I really like it but i guess that Chile is not prepared for this because my mom didn't even understood why i used so many colours lol. Excuse my disgusting cuticles this time but i've had 0 time lately... i can't wait for the 17th to graduate from manicure class and have more free time.

We exchanged some points at a local supermarket and got the new Dolce Gusto Piccolo. I've dreamed of having a Dolce Gusto since they came out but they're all so freaking expensive! Thank you supermarket and your amazing discount. In the picture i'm working on some things for my mini manicure business and enjoying a cup of lungo coffee ("large" espresso... large is the biggest lie that a product can tell you).

And to finish this off, here i'm "modeling" my super old Zara hoodie dress. I'm used to sweater dresses but i guess that this is the only hoodie dress i've seen in my life lol. I rarely wear it but every time i do i remember again how comfortable it is.

These last days have been crazy! Between helping my mom with some things for my dad's job, manicure class and starting (finally!) my second semester at uni... well, just imagine. But still i got some time to do a little shopping ;) of course! I'm a girl!

Probably my favorite! Bunny print crop top.

Sequin tank top. When i go out at night i never find what to wear so finding this top on sale was a perfect oportunity to spice up my closet.

Plain black t-shirt. Yeah, boring! But everybody needs one. It's a little bit baggy for me but it was so cheap that if i don't like it i can still use it to go to the gym. Oh and the spot was the camera, of course i bought it clean.

THE most awesome owl t-shirt i've seen! I love owls (thank you, Harry Potter) but they're so popular right now that i feel that wearing something with them is a little bit unoriginal. But i had to surrender for this t-shirt because it's so beautiful! I love all the details it has!

A great find! This cute lace top was with 50% off. And even better, it was the last one and in my size. When this kind of thing happen i can that destiny lol. It's really pretty and it has a row of buttons on the back (second picture).

Hola! Omg i'm so excited about this post! Like a month ago i bought online my first ever nail wheels (because i live in a cow town where they don't sell them). These designs are for my manicure class (we need to make 50 different ones) and i tried to make the most popular ones. The next wheel i'll make will be holiday themed. I had lot's of fun doing this even though sometimes it's hard to choose which designs are worth to put lol. I hope that the next ones won't be so difficult specially because i had a hard core japanese magazine session searching for inspiration (you can see my favorite ones in this set at my We♥It).

the most, part I

I have wanted to post for ages for it seems that inspiration is something i don't have anymore. I haven't dressed up nicely to show an outfit neither done any awesome nail (BUT i have a nail wheel ready! it has lots of new designs!) but fortunately yesterday i came up with the idea of showing you guys my most used things. It's important to note that these are not my favorites but the things i wear, use, watch, etc. the most (because i sometimes have favorites that i don't use because i'm afraid that they'll get damaged lol). So welcome to the first part of my the most posts and stay tuned to see the other parts and also when i post my favorites.

Outerwear. THE jacket! It's not made of leather but it looks like so from a distance lol. It's actually made of that material winterbreakers are made from so it's really light but also keeps away the cold. It love it! I goes with everything and makes boring outfits a little bit more edgy.

Purse. I think i use this one so much because it goes with the jacket lol. It's small but Mary Poppins must have given it a little bit of her magic because it fits everything i carry with me so well. I attached a furry keychain (or decoration, i don't what to call it lol) a friend gave me for my birthday.

Shoes. I'm afraid to tell you that i'm not a princess that goes to the grocery store in heels. I love my black converse with all my life. They comfortable as hell and just perfect to go to university and places where you just dressed up because it's ilegal not to do so.

Perfume. I have quite a collection of 30ml perfumes because my mom always buys me one when they're in sale. Halloween by J. del Pozo is the one i have most of because a friend of mom gave me like 3/4 of a 50ml bottle when i also had this little one in the picture. So that plus it being a very classic scent (not to harsh, perfect for a daily basis) makes it my most worn perfume.

Lipstick. Sugar Rose by Maybelline was my very first lipstick and still the one i always turn to. It's a really pretty pink very similar to my natural lip colour but so much better.

Nail polish. Ok, i could be lying about this one lol. I have so many nail polishes that there isn't really just one that i use the most. But i sometimes wear Custom Kicks by China Glaze when i can't make my mind so i think that it's a valid option to put here... is it? lol

Movie. Don't act surprised, it's the name of this blog lol. Since the first time i watched Mean Girls it's been one of my favorite movies and whenever i want to have something on the tv as "ambient music" this is the one. And i'm that type of looser that quotes this movie way too much lol.

After a few days of having my nails bare (we had to practice the french manicure on our classmates) i can now carry on with my Halloween themed nails. These are a remake of the ones i did last year and i'm so happy to see how much i've improved :). For the sponging i used a layer of light gray as a base, then silver and finally black. I hope i can do one last Halloween manicure, if time let's me, but if not you'll still be able to see a lot of new designs here because i'm almost done with my very first nail wheel :) i'm super excited because i'm loving how it's looking so far.

I have wanted to post for days but i thought that i didn't have anything to show... and look at these! lol The first thing i want to talk about (which i didn't took a single picture of) is that i started a manicure class! I've been a week there and i'm so happy! I haven't gone to university in like forever (there's a huge educational strike in Chile that has gone for more than 4 months now) so it feels good to do something with my life. I have learned a lot and i hope that i can make a few posts teaching you guys some of those things. Now to the pictures...

Toulouse and his new collar i made for him! I love dressing him up for the holidays lol. Don't look at me like that! At least it's not a costume! • Lame Blackberry pictures ;). We had a little coffee break with my mom the other day and we both wanted to try the super cute pumpkin donuts. But they didn't taste like pumpkin... thankfully! • During Halloween season i eat my weight in chocolates! The packet of mini snikers, twix, 3 musketeers and milky way is my all time favorite! • Just got Just Dance 3. I'm so obsessed with this game that i would make fun of myself. • This was on my summer wishlist: a sequin jacket. I love it! • Another thing from a really old wishlist. I've search for a bodycon skirt everywhere but i didn't wanted to pay a fortune for it. Today i found this amazing dress that is perfect because it works as a dress and a skirt if i want to. It's simple but i love the neckline. I still don't know why my dad bought me something a hooker would wear lol. • My old black sunglasses where stolen so i needed new ones. I love how different these are because i'm so bored of wayfarers. • Last but not least, new Nina Herrera cushion covers (the one on the front, the others came with the bedspread). I want to have my bed full of pretty cushions! But i think i will need a different bed just for me to sleep in.

glittery sneakers tutorial

As all of my DIY tutorials and projects this one has a story lol. As a weird teenager i let a friend write a very lovely and nice frase on my converse: FUCK YOU! I feel that i was a completely different person back then lol. Like 2 years ago i stopped using them because it seems that Sharpies are VERY good markers and i could never get them off. After seeing a couple of pictures of pretty sneakers i decided to try saving these ones (i wasn't using them so i couldn't make it worse). You can also add this how-to to your favorites here at my Cut Out + Keep account.

What we'll need:
Sneakers
Plastic cup
Brush
Glue
Masking tape
Glitter (as many colours as you wish)
Cutting knife (not in picture)

01. Take your crappy sneakers and clean them as much as you can. Yeah, i cleaned mine lol they're really old so there wasn't much i could for them. Tip: acetone or nail polish remover works very well for those difficult spots.

02. Masking tape all the border of the sneaker you want to glitter. Even if we're really careful it can get messy.

03. Mix well in your cup the glitter and glue. I used the whole package of gold and like half of the pink one. Have fun and mix the colours you want to match or contrast the ones on your shoes.

04. Paint or glue or whatever your sneaker. Make sure that it's a thin layer because it's better to add a lot of thin layers rather one too thick that will probably never dry.

05. Wait for it to dry (make it faster by placing them near a heater). When it's COMPLETELY dried you can add the next layer. Use as much as you need to get the glitter effect you want. I lost count of my layers but i used probably like 6.

06. After all your layers are dried help yourself with a knife to remove all the masking tape and peel carefully.

07. Do a little clean up by scrapping the leftover tape and cutting any weird looking edge of the glitter. I didn't do a very good job here lol but i hope that you won't end up with such a big mess.

08. Wear with pride ;).

I loved how they turned out and i'm really happy that i'm not afraid any more to use them lol partly because i love glitter and because i don't own another pair of brownish sneakers (i'm a fan of my comfortable shoes). The fun part here is experimenting with different glitter combinations! They don't sell a lot of colours where i live but i'm sure that anywhere else you'll find a bigger variety. Get inspiration from glitter nail polishes to match your shoes and be creative! Feel free to leave any comment or question. Have fun!

I was inspired by this picture and as that one i was going to do fangs on all the nails but i LOVED so much how the red glitter looked over the black that i couldn't do it lol. Funny thing is that i've always been a fan of Eyeko's Vampira which is really similar to this combination. If i ever dress up as a Vampiress this manicure will be a must.

no-sew furniture cover tutorial

First of all, this will require sewing but it's so basic that i don't really count it. If you don't want to sew you can also skip that step because it's for the decoration and not the basic project. Ok, now a little story lol. I got this little square... thingy lol (i don't even know the name of it in spanish!) but you can sit on it and store stuff inside. I love it! I keep all my sneakers inside and i've saved a lot of space. But the thing is that my cat also loves it for sleeping and scratching. To prevent him from destroying it i created this little project that can be used to cover any furniture you would like to protect or that you simply don't like the colour of it. You can also read and add to your favorites this project here in my Cut Out + Keep account.

What we'll need:
Fabric (i used a 32x70 cms piece)
Fabric glue (there're a lot of glues that work on fabric just choose your favorite)
Pen, ruler and scissors
Iron
10 Beads
10 Head pins
10 Jump rings
Needle and thread
2 Pliers
Measures and quantities are based on the ones i used. Feel free to change them depending on your needs.

01. Choose the piece of furniture you would like to make the cover to. Measure it and choose the size. Mine was 32x70 cms.

02. Trace your cover on the fabric.

03. Iron the fabric through the lines you drew so that you have a nice and clean fold.

04. Cut the excess of fabric.

05. Cut a little triangle on each corner so that when you glue everything there's not a clump of fabric there.

06. Glue everything! If your fabric isn't very thick make sure you don't add too much glue.

07. After folding everything leave it to dry.

08. Cut a piece of paper of the exact meaure as one of the sides (mine was of 32cm). Fold it a couple of times till you have the number of decorations you want. By doing this all of the beads will be at the same distance from one to another (yeah, i could just measure it and divide and all that stuff but math is my worst enemy).

09. Mark the folds of the paper on the fabric so that you know where to sew the decorations later.

10. This is what we'll need to make the decorations: beads, head pins and jump rings.

11. Introduce the head pin into the bead and make a loop by helping you with the pliers. I'm no expert in doing this so i can't really explain it but here you have a video that makes it really easy to understand.

12. Open one of the jump rings (watch this if you need tips), pass the loop inside of it and close.

13. Repeat steps 11 and 12 till you have all the beads ready to sew.

14. Sew the jump rings exactly where you drew the marks on the fabric.

15. If you want, glue the back of the stitches so that they won't come off so easily. Let the glue dry.

16. Iron your cover if you need and put it on top of your furniture. And you're done! :D

As you can see the little bastard already likes it lol. I know that these are a lot of steps but if you take the time to read them (or just by looking at the pictures) they're really easy. And i think that it's better to show everything rather than skipping parts. If you like it please try it and be creative! I liked it so much that i'll be doing it again specially for my night table (and adding a pocket so i don't loose my tv's remote). It's October! And what that means? Halloween manicures! Yay! I don't know if you followed me a year ago but i did 4 manicures for each week (i'm not linking the posts because blogger messed up the pictures but you can still find them in my lookbook) and this year i hope i can do a lot more! If you haven't guessed already Halloween is my favorite holiday even though in Chile it isn't a big thing but i love dressing up :). So enough blah blah, let's see the nails:

I don't get creative points here because i used Cute Polish's tutorial to do them. I love owls and it's a cute design to start with all the Halloween-ness. It smudged a little when i applied the top coat but if you have done dots then you know that it takes forever for them to dry. I've seen in a couple of blogs where girls are showing their dalmatian nail art inspired by the ones the models wore at the Unique Topshop Show (cute!). Since i'm trying to make more different designs to have more variety on my portfolio (i have a little freelance thing painting nails and it'll be useful if i ever apply to work at a salon) i decided to give it a go. Not my first choice for going shopping on a windy day lol. But besides that (and the looks of many people) i quite liked this outfit. I think that that's because of the colours which remind me of a sailor theme. I really wanted to show my face in this one but i looked so fat lol. Or maybe i AM fat because the skirt was so tight that i had to change to jeans when i got back home. In my defense it was never loose (just one of the things you have to deal with online shopping from the other side of the world) but even if i look like a pig i'll keep wearing it because it's one of my favorites.

my summer wishlist

I can't remember any other year that i have wanted summer to come more than this one. I'm sick of the cold weather! So to get in the mood i prepared a little wishlist of some things i would like to have this year. Fortunately my summer wardrobe isn't as bad as my winter one (probably because you have to use more clothes).

Cute Maxi Dress: Yeah, cute is kinda the key word here. I used to hate maxi dresses but this year i'm thinking of giving them a try. I have never found (in my whole life!) one that i like so i'll keep my eyes open.
Denim Shorts: Probably a must-have for every season since you can dress them up or down... BUT i don't have one! The two shorts i have are way too big for me now and the only pair that fits me it's a black one. I found one in an online store that is only 4USD so i think i go for it.
Black Sunglasses: This is a very sad story so prepare to cry lol. The fourth time (yeah, fourth!!!) my car was broke down and the idiots stole everything inside, they took my black sunglasses. They're a HUGE basic but this time i want a model that is more original than my old wayfarer ones (i'm bored of how popular they became).
Mermaid's Tears: I'm sooo buying this nail polish! The collection took forever to arrive to my country but it's here and i want this one. I'm waiting though to go to a place where i can buy it for 8USD because in my city it costs 12USD (not a BIG discount but it's something when you don't have any money lol).
Sequin Outerwear: I wanted to write there "cardigan, jacket or whatever" but it was kinda long lol. I think that something like this would be perfect for going out at night with a simple dress. I only have one other tank top full of sequins and i love it with all my life (i feel super sexy while wearing it!) so i recomend everyone to get something similar.
Brown Loafers: This has been in my wishlists for ever! I still haven't found a cute pair and for a good price but I WILL.
Summer Wedges: Well, they're not only for summer but i look at this type of shoe and i inmediately think of hot weather. They have them now in a lot of stores where i live so i hope that i can buy them before everyone has the same idea.

My first try with aztec nails! This trend is HUGE and i've seen it a million times used in different ways. Obviously i was always tempted to do a nail art with it but i guess that i was kinda afraid and i knew that it was going to take like a whole day to finish. But i finally did them yesterday but before i found my inspiration picture to guide myself with something of a medium difficulty (and it was hard! half of them were boring and easy and the others were way too complicated). No, i'm not turning eighteen ;). This past days were holidays here in Chile (you can read about that here) and i didn't do much but i went out with my friends to some Fondas and i had an amazing time! I ate, drink (not much because i was driving) and played lots of typical games. Sadly, i couldn't take pictures because these places aren't very safe for cameras and mobile phones but here are some highlights of what i got/weared/etc:

Festive nails! Working with the chilean flag is really difficult (everything looks like the USA flag lol) so i just used the colours. Wearing Sally Hansen's Cherry Red and Finger Paint's Laugh My Art Off.

The cutest little rabbit! I played a game to win it but i lost so i asked the guy if i could just buy it because i was never going to win lol. I had to have it! It matches my room perfectly!

A "gold" scarf. I saw one in Zara the other day (i couldn't find a picture but it's featured in this video) i fell in love with it but it cost 60USD, a little bit too much for me. So this other one for just 2USD will have to work lol.

My old phone died ( well, not completely but i couldn't see the missed calls nor recive text messages ¬¬ so annoying!) so my dad gave me this Blackberry Pearl. I don't really like it because it's really old (on the inside) but it will work till i find a job to switch for an iPhone or Android. I bought today a Gizmobies cover for it because i can't stand those boring mobile phone colours (it should be a law that all phones came in pink!)

You can recreate a ton of styles with just this pieces. Just start with a dress and see which accesories and colours match with it. After seeing this outfit i fell in love with riding boots. It seems that they're really in for fall up in the north and i'm thinking in getting a pair because i can also make them work for spring. Try different things to see what you like and if you don't want to try them on you could use Polyvore (search for similar things and see how they look together).

I wanted something super colourful for the awesome mood that these sunny days put me in (little did i knew yesterday that today was going to be cold again lol #fail). I got inspired by this picture on tumblr but changed a little bit the colours (summer = bright!). Doing the hearts was more difficult that i thought it would be! Well, maybe 80% of that was caused of doing them at night and super sleepy. I did them with a nail art nail polish that has a dotting tool (like this one) and another one that has a tiny brush. They're not perfect but i'm loving them with all my heart (hehe).

Not a very elaborated outfit but it was just perfect for this first summer day. It was so nice to have a change of the super cold weather we had this year. Since it's sunday and i wasn't planning on going out of my house i decided for something comfortable with my new top paired with a bright green bandeau. What's more summer2011 than color blocking? If i go out on another summer day i'll try this outfit again with more accesories so i don't look as if wearing pajamas. And an extra pic of the same top but in white... i'm still not sure about the colour though. What do you think? Keep it or change it for another bright colour one?

Nail Polish: Essie - Perky Purple
Hola! I'm back! Well i wasn't gone for too long but in my mind i was because for this whole week i was totally into an art project for a contest and today it was finally finished and delivered. If you want to see it i posted a picture here on twitter (but i think it looks better IRL). So to celebrate my new "freedom" (i've always been free lol) i went to the mall with my friend Nadja and bought a couple of things i've been wanting for ages. First we have a new wallet! Yay! It has so much space inside (just what i needed), i love the colour and the fact that it's a little bit more "mature" than my last one. Perfect! I'll soon do another what's in my wallet? post to show you guys what i'll carry in it. And, last but not least, the prettiest mug ever sold at Starbucks! Since this coffee shop is in my city i've been lusting over this mug. It's looks just like the disposable cup and, even better, it has the old logo! :D And the last photo was a lame excuse to say that i'm loving (again) this Essie nail polish. august favorites

I've seen like a million Monthly Favorites type of videos in youtube and i've always wanted to make a post on mine but it seems that the end of a month is also the end of my memory. But today i remembered and even though i'm not mentioning a lot of stuff (probably with a little more practice i'll be more inspired to also remember which things i liked during the month) i hope you still enjoy it.

I think i have told you guys before that i'm not very good in following "season colours". These are totally spring/summer and we're in winter here lol. But it's nice having a pop of colour in your nails. Konad's Pastel Yellow is amazing and lasts quite a long without chipping. The same goes for China Glaze's Custom Knicks. And sorry for not shaking the bottle before taking the picture lol.

Two Maybelline Eyeshadows. The first one is called Moonlight and i use it as a highlight on my brow bone and inner corner of the eye. I totally recommend it! With this or any white eyeshadow your eyes will look awake and with a lot of life. The second one i have no idea what's it's name but i'm pretty sure it must be Cinnamon Spice. When i'm in a hurry i do a very simple eye make up and this colour looks really cute on it's own.

Ives Saint Laurent Lisse Gloss in #1 + Maybelline Lipstick in Pink Please. My all time favorite lip combo! I won't probably post it every month but make sure that i'll always wear it. The colour is really similar to my natural lip colour but better so it's perfect for everyday.

I've been wearing this bag like crazy. I don't know why but all of a sudden it goes with everything lol. I love big bags more than little ones but there are days when i don't want to carry with me every freakin thing in my room. I bought this one in a local store called Fes.

I'm a dork, ok? I'm totally obssesed with the facebook game The Sims Social. And it isn't helping that almost all my friends are also playing lol. But as every facebook game i'll probably get bored of it in two weeks.

I remember that a looong time ago i did this tag kind of thing in another blog and it was kinda fun so i decided to do it again. This was because i recently cleaned my wallet (to find my lost creadit card! i didn't btw) and when i was doing this i thought "i should get another one! :D". Yeah, just like that lol. It's really old (like 4-5 years) and i could do with something a little bit more "sofisticated". So before i buy a new one i wanted to do this post so that when i'm an old woman i can remember what my wallet looked like when i was 22 (as if! old women don't to look at that stuff lol).

Neon Zebra Hinge Wallet @ Hot Topic

1. Extra Cards & Other Stuff: There's a really tight pocket where i keep my voting card and other random things. I also keep there receipts but since i cleaned it obviously i threw them away.
2. Coffee Discount: from Dunkin Donuts! I have like 6 of these that i received with the purchase of a travel mug (cheaper coffee if i bring the mug! SO GREEN!). I love the Dunkin Donuts coffee♥ i'm a huge fan of Starbucks and these are an awesome cheaper alternative. Caramel Dunkalatte FTW!
3. Random Pictures: in this space i think that is common to put the ID but it seems that in the US IDs are smaller than here. So i just put in two pictures: one with all my friends (cortesy of Moo from when they gave free pictures from the ones you had uploaded on Fotolog, yeah THAT old!) and another one of a friend that she put it there lol.
4. ID, Driving License, etc.: Pretty obvious. Here you see my ID, driving license, a store's card (where my credit card was!!!! i'm so mad at myself that i lost it!) and my local casino's card lol. No, i don't have a gambling addiction like Marge Simpson.
5. Nothing: I had to put this here just to tell you that i don't put coins on my wallet. The reason is because when i put too many it's hard to close so i prefer to carry a coin case with me for that (i also keep there my student ID).
6. Money Honey: OMG A 5000 BILL!!!! You're lucky to see that there because i never have money lol. Oh and they're chilean pesos because i... live in Chile! *dramabutton*

Now i think that this was really boring because i have nothing in my wallet lol. But i repeat, i cleaned it yesterday so if you want to see all the junk i had you'll have to peek inside my trash can :D. What's in your wallet?

handmade sunglasses case

Hola! It seems like an eternity since i last posted but it's been actually less than a week lol. I saw that i recently reached 60+ followers!!! I'm so so so happy! I know that it isn't a large number for some of you and that a blog isn't about numbers, but what can i do? I'm still happy and so grateful. As a thank you i wanted to give you guys a diy tutorial (my favorite type of posts!) so i started doing this sunglasses case that i have wanted to do for a really long time. I have lots of sunglasses and i like keeping them in separate cases so that they don't get scratch but i always confuse which sunglasses i left in which case. Because of this i created this little project. The one in the pictures is the "pilot" because i needed to know if i could do it before starting taking photos for a tutorial. I have to admit that i'm loving it! I just can't wait to show you guys how to do it.

I feel that it's been a while since my last polka dot nail art so i'm reviving now an all time favorite. I was in the mood of something girly and i think that was because i was watching Gossip Girl (btw i'm dying here for season 5!). I used my newest polish for this, Maybelline's Astral that is a dusty rose colour. It isn't something i haven't seen before but despite all the pinks in my collection i don't have a dupe. I added two clear rhinestones per hand for an extra touch of girlyness ;). Cross your fingers for them to last at least till tomorrow without chipping because i have a birthday party and i really don't want to re-do them.

As a bonus i wanted to show you guys my new phone faceplate. I have a Nokia 5530 (which i hate!) and till i have the money to upgrade it i thought of buying something to make it look prettier. I'm a HUGE sucker for pink phones, cases and stuff like that... well, actually everything pink caughts my eye. In real life the colour is less brighter but still 1000 times better than boring black. Oh, and the front is silver! I was just more interested in the back :).

I thought i had done leopard print nail art in every existing colour but i knew i was wrong when i saw Emma's nails. I fell in love with this colour combo! The back smudged a little bit because i wasn't patient enough to let it dry, it's always a bad thing to do my nails at night.

It's funny how i stop shopping for like weeks and then i feel that i compensate for that buying more lol. It's like a diet. When i didn't buy the whole world today, thank god! The skirt was in discount and i thought that it's the perfect colour for fall/winter. I haven't wore it yet (i bought like 5 days ago) but i already have a few outfit prepared for it. I feel that i don't really need new bags but this one was with a HUGE discount and it's perfect to wear to university :). It also seems to be weirly inspired by the Mulberry Alexa, isn't it? Hola! I had a bunch of posts prepared but for many reasons i couldn't do none of them :(. The main reason is because i got a tiny job for three days which was very tiring but i had fun and the pay was good so when i get the money spect a haul. So, today is the Children's Day in my country and in my family my mom always gives us toys no matter how old we are lol. That's awesome. I got this Angry Birds plushie that has sound lol. I'm so mature, i know. We ate a lot of junk including those weird cupcakes. I've tasted best but i don't want to cook so these ones will have to work (and they do!). And last but not least, my nails of the day. I had totally forgotten i had this nail polish... i guess i bought it when i wasn't into pastel colours very much but know i'm bananas for them :). It's not very wintery but i don't care, i love giving a little bit of life to this cold weather. If you're interested the colour is Pastel Yellow from Konad.

I was going to take better pictures of this manicure but they already started chipping and i'm more in the mood of changing them rather than retouching. I was inspired by Nailside's tutorial and this was more of a "hey, could i do that?" kind of thing lol. Oh and i could. Good for me. I went save with the colours and i have to admit that they remind me a lot of Harry Potter. This was on Friday and i'm really tempted to say "yesterday" but it's pass midnight so i guess that saying it is illegal (and that's a serious crime!). I know she's not of everybody's taste (besides 14 year old girls) but i've been hearing her music since i was really young so i kinda grew up with her. I even went to her first concert in Chile when i was 15. This one was way better and she sung a lot of her old songs which are my favorites♥. I was planning in going out today with some friends but we changed it to a coffee at "night" (it's when it's dark but not late at all lol). All this explanation just to say that i'll probably have to cover all this with a huge coat because now, that i'm inside my house, i'm freezing to dead! Gosh i need summer in my life. Even though i now have boots and heels i still don't feel too comfortable on them so i just leave those for going for some drinks or stuff like that (where i want to look pretty and where i'll most definitely be sitting down lol). I had a post saved to upload on the 13th (the day i went to the movies) but everything was so crazy that i didn't had time to take some pictures. As you may have guessed i went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and i was crazy enough to go to the chilean avant premiere lol. I also made a Deathly Hallows t-shirt (photos soon, it's in the laundry now but you can see a glimpse in this ugly photo my friend took of me) and painted my nails using this tutorial. They started chipping the very next day so i'll probably re-do this other mani i did last year (i have good brushes now so it'll definitely look better). The photos show some "postcard" type of things that the cinema was giving out :) that "HP Parte 2" one is going straight to my door.

I gave you a sneak peek the other day and now i came to tell the story lol. Some months ago Mari from Little Fille was having a giveaway and of course i entered because i've been in crazy love with her headbands since i discovered them. Some weeks passed and while i was in a churro restaurant (yeah i remember!) i saw in twitter that i had won!!!! I screamed a little. Since the one i wanted was sold out i had a hard time choosing another one but in the end Lila won my heart. 500 days later (no, not 500 lol but Far Far Away is probably nearer from the rest of the world than Chile) it arrived!

I love that the colour goes with a lot of outfits! I have wore it a couple times now and when i used it last saturday for a birthday party a lot of girls liked it :). My mom was specially thrilled by the fact that it has real freshwater pearls lol she wanted to steal them and make them a necklace (note: hide the headband). Oh, and i'll make sure to post decent outfit pictures using it because this ones were really quick :). Thank you so much Mari for making this awesome giveaway!!! First i was going to do this just for myself but i thought that maybe someone else would find it useful. Since i lost weight last year (you have no idea how HUGE i was!) i feel that i have more freedom now to wear clothes so i'm trying everyday to find my "style" lol. One that i love is the one you can see on Glee's Quinn Fabray. I know that it's more difficult to get outfit inspiration from tv characters because they don't dress up as normal people would (it seems that they're always on summer and never get cold lol). But still, if you like it too read below to get inspired :).

overall.
Girly and romantic is what describes better this look. It's about dresses, skirts, cute shoes and color palette that features mostly pastels colors.

the basic.
As you can see from the pictures, it seems that the only thing that Quinn wears are dresses lol. I think that's what i like about her style because in my country girls wear only jeans. Start off with a girly dress and then pair it with a cardigan (short or long, it doesn't matter). The color of the cardigan can be of a similar shade, one that is on the dress (or belt) and also that contrasts (like in the first example).

two pieces.
This is the same as dresses but you can skip the cardigan thing with the top. For colder weather change the top for a sweater.

outerwear.
This was one of the parts i was more intrested in because it's freezing cold in my country right now. Quinn doesn't normally wear jackets and coats because, as i told you before, it's a tv character and people kinda forget that they can feel cold lol. But the one she uses the most are denim jackets which are very practical because they go with a lot of things and add a little bit of casualness (is that even a word?!) to a dress that looks too formal. Blazers are also a great choice (in all colors and patterns) and i fell in love with the bright color coats.

pants.
I think there's only one episode where Quinn wears pants lol it seems that it's not her thing. But i looove wearing jeans so i tried to give this examples my own personal twist. Basically it's all about girly and loose tops paired with skinny jeans.

shoes.
I had a hard time finding pictures where her shoes showed lol. The ones i saw more of are this lace up booties in brown (which are #1 in my wishlist right now), wedges in light tones and ballet flats. For extra girlyness add cute socks that match the outfit (neutral colors always look good). I'm more of a sneaker girl (that were the only shoes i weared in my teenage days so my closet is FULL of them lol) but i think that they'd look good as long as you keep something girly at the top.

accesories.
Sometimes what makes the outfit. For cold and hot weather fedora hats are a must, they're super cute and right now you can find them in a lot of colors. Omg belts! You must have belts! I still have lots of things in my closet that are too big on me so to make them look better i mark my waist with them. Scrafs speak for themselfs :) match patterns and colors with your clothes and they'll always look good. Keep the jewelry simple. As for bags, she wears big ones with lots of cute details. I didn't put it in the picture but i think that chanel style chain bags would look amazing.

winter savior.
It's winter where i live and i sometimes have trouble for dressing up (you need so many layers to battle this cold!). I'm not a fan of arm warmers but i think that they would be amazing under a jacket of coat. Berets are something i were almost every day lol black and white are musts to match any outfit you try. Last but not least, tights and leggings will help you of not turning blue.

And that's all! Uff i feel i wrote a novel. Tell me if you found this useful because i love taking inspiration for outfits from celebrities, movies and stuff like that. They're life saviors when you don't know what to wear :). Who are your style icons? I really wanted to talk about this relatively new website that i found while watching to a million of youtube videos. It's called Chick Approved and it says on the front page that it's for uploading your outfits of the day. It sounded nice but i had to use it a little bit more to see if it wasn't a bad copy of lookbook. The fact is, that it has things in common (like the clothes tagging thing) but i feel that it isn't as "formal" as lookbook seems to be. Here you can take a really quick pic in front of a mirror of your outfit and people will still look at it. I'm really liking it right now because it's just what i was looking for: a website where to keep my outfits (from the most dressy ones to the ones that are only house approved). I think it's nice to have an archive to know which outfits look good on you and it's also really useful for when you have to rush out of the house and have no time to think of what to wear. The site is in beta and you can't do much with it but i believe that it'll improve in the future. If you register or already have an account friend me here.

Don't you just love the feeling of finding something really pretty on discount? I love it! It even makes me so happy that i'm with a huge smile for like days. This is what happened yesterday with two pretty new additions to my closet.

This was the last skirt like this they had and it was like 8USD (in Chile that's really unexpensive). It was a little bit big on me and it had some other details... the reason of the price. But i managed yesterday to sew it and resize it and now it's perfect!

I fell in love with the peter pan collar this shirt has! I wasn't really sure about the floral pattern because it looked like something my grandmother would have bought back in her days. But after some thinking i ended up loving that too! For 4USD it was a must.

This wasn't in discount or aything but i have wanted to dye my hair for some weeks now. I used being ginger when i first started university, then went for black and now i was trying to be brunette again (my natural hair colour). But it's so difficult! Even though i dyed my hair brown i ended up with red on top and black on the ends. So i'll just hear my inner self and be ginger again (the color it's actually a coppery brown). I really feel that i have more the personality of a redhaired than a brunette.

I wish you could stop it. Reason? Last saturday we had like a HUGE storm here and i was left without electricity for almost 3 days!!! You can't believe how bored i was and i couldn't even leave my house because it was so rainy and windy and all the streets seemed like a pool. Watch this video to see what i'm talking about.

The few hours of natural light we had i made a little nail art inspired by that awful rain. What else i could do without electricy? Between that and Scrabble, Monopoly and Pictureka i spend my boring Amish days.

Everything was painted by hand using nail art brushes. It took a long time to make but as you can see i had nothing better to do lol. Oh, btw, happy winter/summer depending on where you live :).

1. Skechers Shape Ups: For the gym i'm wearing this really old sneakers that i used to PE class back in school when i was like 14!!! It seems like an eternity. I don't really care about going pretty to the gym because it's just not the right place but this sneakers are really pretty and promise to do a lot of things that are probably not true but i still want to believe they are. I always tell my mom and friends that i want them because i want to have Kim Kardashian's butt.

2. Ipod arm band: We're full of exercise things today! I haaaate having to carry around the gym my iPod in my hand just because the pants don't have pockets! People don't think when they make clothes.

3. Black Bodycon Skirt: I think this should the a basic in every girls closet... i basic i don't have! I found a cute one today but i didn't have the money so i guess that soon i'll go back for it.

4. Brown Loafers: This is more of a summer shoe than winter but because of that i may be able to find one a little bit cheaper. If i found one! The only pair i've found so far we're ones from Topshop that cost like 100USD!!!! They were really pretty but i don't think this type of shoe is that expensive to make so i'll keep looking.

5. Brown Lace Up Booties: I only have black boots so this isn't something i want, is something i need. I'm in mad love with this type of bootie and i saw them in the store where i won the gift card so cross your fingers so that they don't sold out.

6. New cell phone: My old Nokia 5530 is driving me crazy!!! I ended up hating hating touch phones so i'm really looking forward to buy one with qwerty keyboard. Blackberries are too expensive for me so i hope i can find a pretty and good one like that Samsung I5510 (i would feel just like a Gossip Girl!).

Yesterday i went with some friends to Santiago (fyi the capital of my country) that is like 2 hours away from where i live. I didn't buy much because nothing caught my eye but i managed to take a picture of the awesome mini cupcake i bought:

I definitely want to make some like this in my house (i always make muffins but never with frosting). My nails? I did them on monday and loooved this colour combo. I'm loving this dusty pink colour right now and after months chasing for the OPI crackle polish i finally found it and it's my top favorite since.

The Skinny Caramel Macchiato i bought today :).
And now my top story of the day. A local store was having 40% off just for today so i, being such a shopaholic, printed the coupon and went to see if i liked something. Oh, surprise! I did find something!

Love at first sight. I think this sweater is a winter basic and it turned to be exactly what i was looking for. After buying it, i returned home and logged into twitter (because i'm really cool) and that store was having a contest that the first 10 to send a photo of the recipe of what you bought today with their coupon would win a gift card. And i won! I was the seventh person to send the picture and you can't believe how happy i am! The gift card is worth for around 60USD which i think is amazing. Now i just have to wait till they contact me via twitter DM to know if this is really happening.

I'm off now to watch yesterday's Pretty Little Liars! I'm so happy the new season started. Do you watch it?

I've seen this Urban Outfitters top in sooo many fashion blogs. I think it's a lovely t-shirt and i'm actually thinking of doing a DIY version of it some time. I wanted to do this post on sunday or yesterday but i was so tired. Between classes, gym (which i haven't gone in AGES), family and my life i feel exhausted. Maybe that's why i bought these things. But it's ok, i really need to have good grades this semester so i guess i'll leave this post here and start working. I hope everyone has a really good week!

DIY door hanging monogram

One of my friends birthday was this sunday and i was feeling crafty so i made her this door hanging monogram with her letter. I wasn't planning on doing a tutorial on this but since i took some pictures of the process i decided to do a little walkthrough kind of thing that can hopefully inspire someone. So let's get started!

Materials:
1 piece of a square or rectangular (the shape it's up to you) cardboard or wood. I used a 20x20 cms MDF.
A template with your design.
Acrylic paint & brushes.
Ribbon.
Stapler.
Masking tape.
Lighter (uhhhh).
Glue gun *optional*.
Glitter glue *optional*.

Before getting started i designed my template in photoshop so that i would have an idea of what the final piece was going to look like. This way it's easier to choose the colours and knowing which ones look good together.

01. Paint your wood with your base colour.

02. Place your template over the wood when it dries and trace it. I doodled over all the back of the template with a pencil so that when i traced it a little bit of gray would show over the wood.

03. Time to paint!

When choosing your paint try that your colours are really opaque so that you don't have to re-paint. I chose a shimmery pink that needed three coats and believe me that wasn't fun.

04. If your design has straight lines use masking tape to help yourself. While doing this i also painted the back with black.

Looking good! ;)

05. I wanted to do a detail on the crown with glitter so i painted it with a base colour (as similar as i could get to gold) and when it was dry i applied three layers of glitter glue.

06. Cut your ribbon (I used three strings of 25 cms each) and burn the ends with the lighter so that they don't fray. Don't get the flame too near the ribbon when you do this! With just the heat it will burn as much as we need it.

07. Staple the ribbon to the back of the wood. As a bonus, i glued it so that i could be 100% sure that it wasn't going to come off.

08. Write a super gay and cheesy message on the back :D.

09. And you're done!

Yesterday was one my best friends birthday so i went to her house to give a her a gift i made for her (i'll post a mini tutorial on it soon). I'm happy that i had the chance to wear that headband i love it and even though it's not something normal people wear here i don't care about the looks. I had a nail related post prepared but when i opened the photos to edit them a little bit i saw that my cuticles are disgusting lol. For some people, dresses are a no no for fall and, specially, winter but for me they're a huge YES. There exists something in Chile that is called Feria de Artesanía. It's hard to explain what they are and i don't know a good translation for that word but it's basically a place where you can find various stands were people sell a lot of things for a really cheap price. They aren't of a good quality and it's probable that you'll find half the world using the thing you bought there lol but sometimes that's what you're looking for. The most common things you can buy there are jewelry, piercings, scarfs & winter accesories, bags, handmade crafts, make up, etc. etc. Ok, with this explained, so that you guys know what they are the next time i talk about one lol, i'll show you a little haul of what i bought today :).

A short owl necklace. I love owls and it really annoys me that they're so popular right now lol. But i couldn't resist buying this since it cost like a dolar.

This was the kind of thing that you really like but you're never so sure of buying... until you ask the price and it frekin cheap! It's a ring btw :) i don't know if you can tell by the photo.

I spent like half an hour only looking at the necklaces because i couldn't choose which one to buy (i'll probably go back to buy a couple more). At last i choose this one with a tiny mirror (it works!) that has some beads and a crown hanging.

Hola! The last time i tried floral nails it was a complete mess. I have done them twice before and i definitely don't like them with white lineart (as you can see in my third halloween nail art from last year). But now i felt really inspired to try them again and even though they smudged pretty badly (i photoshoped these pictures A LOT lol) i kinda liked them. These may be like the ultimate spring nails... and it's autumn here! lol Well, let's say i like mixing seasons.

The base is really light sky blue i made and the pink is Laced Up from China Glaze. Next time i do a more elaborate design i'll try to take some picture to do some kinda of walkthough/tutorial.

I had a really bad day on friday so i went to do my favorite thing: shopping. I didn't had a lot of money but i managed to get my hands on a few cute things. If i want to start saving some money i needed to have a super cute money box, right?

It got late while i was at the mall and they were having a night sale (i had no idea). In a store, they had 50% off in all hair accesories... umm, yes please! Loved these bows <3 they're black with grey lace.

My bag (my favorite right now) and a small piece of my outfit. It was freezing yesterday! And today too but at least i'm not going out.

My mom bought this for me a mother day's gift lol (it's a Maybelline blush -my first one!- in rosado otoñal). It sounds weird but it's true. She bought it as if it was the gift from my cat (apparently, my son)... yeah, we're all crazy in my house. Of course i also gave her something but i didn't take a picture.

On tuesday i painted my nails and i tried to recreate an old design i think i saw on Emerald Sparkled (i'm not sure but i'm almost sure that's were i saw it). I didn't have a huge amount of pink nail polish but think this works for now. They took forever to be made and since the white is a really cheap brandless polish it won't last a lot without chipping.

Sorry for the blurry and weird lighting pictures. I was sick on wednesday (i'm still a little) and i only remembered to take them late in the afternoon and, as you can see, twilight light isn't very flattering.

I don't know why we have seasons if here mother nature just decides that we're going to skip autumn and go straight to winter. It was freezing today! But i really like dressing up with layers :p *weird*. Even though i still have to go winter shopping because i had to sell a lot of things from my closet that were HUGE on me. Ok, the outfit. I'm in love with the skirt and tights... that's all i can say lol. I'd wear them every single day if i could. As always, i can only take crappy outfit pictures but it's the best i can do for now and i really wanted to post something. I'm off to my warm bed now to read my new Cosmopolitan.

Hola! Happy Easter everyone! I hope the Easter Beagle was nice and brought you all some yummy chocolates :). I'll start today's post by showing you my awesome Easter inspired manicure :). I recreated the ones i saw in this image and i was actually going to keep the dots in lilac (or lavender or whatever that colour is called in english lol) but when i applied the white i liked them more like this. I opted for bunnies instead of chicks because in Chile this holiday is more associated with bunnies and eggs. I can say that it's one of my favorite manicures so far :).

And it wouldn't be Easter without some chocolate :). I'm so happy that i was able to eat lots and lots of easter eggs because i couldn't last year (for a couple of sugar reasons) and i can tell you that i made up for that lol.

My mom gave me this Vizzio egg that was filled with chocolate covered almonds :p so yummy! She also gave me a little bag with egg shaped gummies and strawberry flavored eggs. Yeah, it seems like i'm 10 and not 22 lol.

Ok, i think this will be my last birthday related post lol. Because sadly you can't celebrate forever... birthdays should be a weekly thing. I'll show you now the nails i wore (wore sounds as if they were acrylic lol but no, they my own) last friday and monday.

I took a couple of my "regular nail pictures" of my hand looking like a claw lol but all turned out blurry and i didn't notice before :S. Maybe it happened because i took them at night, idk. But well, i did this manicure to match my dress and tights for the "party" i had in my house last friday. I used my nameless petite OPI nail polish and a leopard konad stamp.

I went to buy a ring the other day and totally fell in love with this glittery polish. I was so cheap! lol It probably won't last a day... ok, that's such a lie because it's wednesday and it's still on my nails. I layered it over Sally Hansen's Black Out and tried to make gradient effect with the glitter but i don't think it worked right lol. If you want to try this i really recomend applying thin layers because i had an awful time while waiting for them to dry.

It's official: i don't feel inspired to blog when i'm at uni. If i had a tripod i think i think it would be easier because i DO dress up nicely to go there. Oh well, yesterday i had a little birthday party here at my house with my friends :). Early because my real birthday is the 18th but since it's monday and i have classes i won't be able to celebrate. I didn't take pictures because i was too busy... having fun lol. I got lot's of lovely gifts but i think it would be too nosy to show them all so i'll just put pictures of two because one is from my parents and the other one from my bffs.

This was like my "main gift" because it was from my parents. It's the Nina Herrera quilt i showed you from my old wishlist post! I simply love it!

I love scarfs! They're so warm and they look really nice and i think that they can spice up a boring outfit. I didn't have one like these and with those colours so i'll be using it a lot. Loved it, so pretty.

These are my current nails. I used Essie Splash of Grenadine and Turquoise & Caicos which are both from the resort collection. As you can see, i don't feel that creative since i entered uni again... i guess it's because i know that my manicures don't last more than three days with so much work.

And my outfit. The day was kinda cold so i also weared a black jacket over it and boots. I think that next time i wear this shirt closed (because i like wearing it opened with a tank top underneath) i'll add a belt on the waist because i felt way too much like lesbian Robin lol.

I was just writing that i was going to go and eat my feelings because the new and pretty fountain pen i bought was broken but somehow my dad fixed it :D. I'm so happy because it was the last one in the colour i wanted. It's by Jordi Labanda (an awesome illustrator) and it's the purple one in this picture.

As i told you, yesterday i went to Lollapalooza Chile. It was simply amazing!!! All the performers were really good (even the ones that were for the kids lol) and the whole "feeling" of everything was so cool. I had an awesome time despite of the awful hot weather (i was melting during the concerts that were during the day!). There was a Green Spirit area totally dedicated to recicling and other pro world things that was quite fun and free Coca-Cola Zero all day long :D. I saw the concerts of Francisca Valenzuela, Los Bunkers, Cypress Hill, Desftones and The Killers♥. I felt like dying during every single song of The Killers... and omg Brandon Flowers!!! You gorgeous man!!!

But of course i had to do some animal print lol. This pink colour was my mom's but i stole it because it's so pretty. It's really bright and has super small shimmer. And just because i'm not a simple person for manicure i added a zebra stamp from Konad. I painted them like on monday so i'm really sorry for not taking the picture sooner! You can totally see that they're starting to grow and chip.

Tomorrow i'm going to Lollapalooza Chile so i'll make sure to take some pictures :). I'm going to see The Killers (my favorites! and my reason for going), Cypress Hill, Deftones and a lot more.

Here are the things i bought a couple days ago. I went to the mall because my dad gave me money to buy a dress as an early birthday present :D but of course i couldn't held myself of buying other things too.

This is the dress! Since i saw it at the topshop section of a store i knew i had to have it. It was perfect! Burgundy and peter pan collar: two things i have wanted for a long time. When i wear it (for my birthday probably because i'm saving it) i'll take some pictures to show you how it looks because like this it seems shapeless.

I was searching for shoes to wear with the dress but i had no luck. Instead i found these gorgeous boots! <3 They're all fluffy on the inside so i won't be cold this winter :).

There you can see a little part of the bed cover that i stole from my mom lol. My old cushions didn't match it so i needed a new one. I have to admit that i was a total Agnes when i saw this!!! lol (please watch the video and you'll understand) Indeed, it's so fluffy i'm gonna die! <3

This is something so random lol. I didn't even bought it the same day. But the thing is that i wanted a pen holder for my new desk but i couldn't find a pretty one till i saw this one. It's so cute and it matches my room. The flower can be removed and used as a pen.

p.s: I don't know why the colours look so weird on the photo lol (probably that's what you get when you photograph neons over black). But i think it looks cool.

After so many shopping trips i think i won't be buying anything in like months lol. Oh, but my birthday is coming... so not! :D That's what so magical about birthday months: presents from me to me. Specially when i have 15% off in one of my favorite stores: CasaIdeas (there's where i bought the fluffy cushion).

early birthday wishlist

Hola! I'm doing right now a typography work for university but i needed to distract myself a little bit (i think i'm going blind for drawing so many letters) so i thought i would share my super early birthday wishlist (yeah, because it's the 18th of April lol). It's so early that i think i'll change my mind in like 2 days of these things so may be i'll post another one. Oh, and my family is currently without any money and i don't have a job so it's possible that i won't get any of these lol but i can dream.

1. Any Mac Laptop: This year i'm taking photography and multimedia classes at university so i'll spent even more time in front of my computer. I currently have a really old Acer notebook that was really cheap and i must say that i'm impressed of the quality lol. It doesn't work at it's 100% but it's kinda alive so that's amazing. But i really need a new AND good one.

2. iPhone: I've been wanting an iPhone since the day they invented them lol. But they're sooo expensive! My phone isn't working right and this is my #1 option if it dies.

3. Nina Herrera Bed Cover: My super colourful bed cover (the one you've seen in many of my pictures) is disgusting! It's really dirty and i couldn't stand it anymore so i "stole" my mom's quilt lol. Since it's hers she'll be asking for it anytime soon so i would really want this one from Nina Herrera. It's floral and pink. Perfect!

4. Tangled and Eclipse dvd: Please don't judge me! lol Tangled (for me Enredados) is like my favorite Disney movie right now and since i like watching movies over and over again it won't kill me to have it on dvd. And i want Eclipse because i have all the other Twilight dvds and Eclipse was my favorite book from the saga so i think it deserves it.

5. Burgundy Peter Pan Collar Dress: Since i started following Emma's blog that i have wanted a peter pan collar dress. I think they're so cute! And i also wanted a burgundy dress because i love that colour. So just imagine my face when i saw this beauty at topshop. I bugged my parents so much that wanted this dress for my birthday that they bought it for me :). So it's more like a bonus that i put it in the list because i already own it lol. Now it's in my closet waiting for April 18th.

These are just the things i could think of right now but of course i always want clothes, jewelry, make up, shoes and stuff like that. A girl can never have enough of them :). I think i should get a job lol i want way too many things but i don't do a thing for getting them. I'm such a parasite!

rainbow cupcakes

My mom has been bugging me for like 2 weeks to make a cake or something with a cake mix she bought weeks ago. The thing here is that she buys those bags expecting me to cook them and if i don't want to they just lay there on our kitchen till they expire lol. Since i had nothing to do on monday i finally did something with that mix... rainbow cupcakes! I have been wanting to do them since forever and since the mix was only a vanilla one (nothing fancy) i thought this was the perfect oportunity for adding some colour.

As i'm super lazy i didn't follow any instructions to do them... just my common sense (which wasn't of much help). I just divided the mix in different bowls and added the colour: red, blue, yellow and purple. Then i added them on the cupcake molds on layers.

Of course there're recipes that help you to make the colour more defined (with jelly and soda i think i read somewhere) but since i wanted to do them quickly i didn't cared. It was just luck that i liked the result. The colours blend but you can still tell which is which. The mix alone wasn't very sweet so my mom made a glaze (with whites and sugar) and voilà! Cute and yummy!

The only two survivors that are left lol. Say bye to them because they probably won't make it to the night.

university can't stop a girl from shopping

I bought so many dresses during this summer that now, that days are getting colder, i don't have anything to wear with jeans. So after bugging my mom all weekend she finally took me for a little clothes shopping. I was almost late for a class but somehow i managed to get there before it started... so that makes me awesome.

I loveeeee cardigans! I think you can wear them with anything and honestly i could buy them in every single known by mankind. I still need to get a black though because that's the more useful.

Hidden in the store i found this shirt. I'm in love! The colour doesn't shown in the photo but it's like a baby pink or almond. I'll probably use it with the sleeves rolled up, i think it looks cuter that way.

My favorite detail.

There was a sale were you bought a watch and you get a pair of sunglasses for free. Yes please! I got the neon green watch and baby pink sunglasses. I also found these cute mini OPI nail polishes in sale.

They don't have the colour written at the bottom so if you know which they could be please tell me :). I'm in love with the blue one (it has a greenish glow) and the burgundy/brown/whatever will be perfect for autumn and winter.

The sequins on my St. Patrick's Day nails were so annoying that i only wanted to take them off. I needed a little inspiration so i surfed around tumblr and i found this picture that i had in my favorites. Leopard? Neons? Count me in!

My only problem here was the taupe colour because i didn't had anything similar in my huge collection and i couldn't think of another colour to paint them. I tried looking in my mom's polishes and what i found? A TAUPE! I have been looking for a shade like this for ages and it was always under my roof lol. It took me the whole morning (and a part of the afternoon) to finish them but it was worth it.

I don't know how people can study full time and keep a blog lol. Ok, it isn't that hard but it's difficult when you're full of projects and it's only your second week! But still i have time to try new a manicure like this one for St. Patrick's Day :). We don't celebrate it here in Chile (i don't even know what's it for... besides St. Patrick of course) but it's nice to play around with colours and themes. I was planning on going to an irish bar to drink green beer with a friend but she had classes till 9pm yesterday so it was kinda difficult... oh well, there's always a next year :).

Today is a really special day for me... i wanted to do a post about it but i already had this picture taken and i'm too lazy to do two posts in a row. I'll see if i can post it later on tonight (because i have to do a massive room cleaning) or maybe tomorrow but it won't mean the same.

sunday morning rain is falling

A sunday but with no rain but a dazzling sun. And so dazzling that i was freakin sleepy all day long. I think the pictures speak for themselfs but in a short summary: i went to the gym, my mom bought for me S by Shakira, after a nap my kitty was still sleepy, as everyday i watched The Simpsons (i'm the biggest fan! i quote episodes all day lol), worked a little bit on stuff for uni and now i lighted a candle because i'm really sleppy so i guess i'm going to call it a day soon. This entry is to express my feelings for all those people in Japan that where affected by the earthquake. I went though one last year i totally understand how difficult it is to return your life to normal. So i really hope that no more things like this occur and that the japanese people prove the world how strong they can be.

As for Chile, we have a tsunami warning in all the country. I don't think that it'll be a huge wave like in movies but it's better to prevent (specially when some regions were already affected by a tsunami last year). I live in a city with coast but my house is over sea level so i'm safe here :) but i hope that nothing happens because Chile has suffered already enough.

FAIL! With that said i can now tell you the sad story about these nails. I wanted something cute and girly for my first day of university (this year because it's my fourth) and thought of this because Gem's tuesday tip inspired me. The blue is a franken made by me and the other colours are just some random brands. Well, the blue aren't that bad but i didn't wait for the yellow to dry and... you can guess the rest. Horrible. So next time i'll wait at least a day before using scotch tape on my nails lol. I'll re-do them tomorrow because i can't look at them anymore. Oh and i'm just uploading them because i think that i have to learn from my mistakes so that's the reason... i really hope that no one gets blind after this.

I have been a little bit lazy with my posting but i've so busy with all the pre-university bussiness (in my uni you have to do A LOT of work just to take your courses, it's crazy!). So i still have to do a lot of things but i still want to do some little shopping (getting a new bag is my #1 priority) so i guess i'll have to find some free time. Oh! And today i started going to the gym so i have even less free time! I'm crazy. Ok, enough of this and on to the pictures. Here i have some of the new stuff i bought these last weeks.

In my search for the perfect trench coat i found this one (this isn't that perfect one i'm looking for but it works for now). My mom loved it so she bought it for me. I really like the detail it has on the upper part of the zipper. I asked the girl in the store if i could use for the rain and she said that may be for when it drizzled... that's a yes for me! lol

My favorite part! The hoddie has leopard print.

Lace shirt. Lovely, with a HUGE discount and the last one in my size.

This ring was really unexpensive and it has become quickly in one of my favorites.

I've been on the search for months now for the perfect inicial necklace. It seems they aren't a thing here. I found this one and even though i don't like it that much it will do till i found "the one". I also have plans on getting my name on a necklace like the ones you can buy at this store.

I wasn't sure to buy this stone but it grew on me because it's supposed to be my horoscope stone. It was really cheap so i just went for it. I really like the colour and it gives a nice touch.

I wanted to take a picture quickly of my nails before i ruin them because i'll be doing lots of things this week since i'm going back to university next monday (i'm still not happy with the idea of my beloved summer being over). I was in a leopard mood and i had never tried the multicolored spots so now was the time. I used lots of nail polish colours and brands for the spots and i made the black with a nail art pen.

Don't judge my clothes! It's sunday! lol I think this type of pictures look really weird but i like showing both of my hands so you can get the idea of the general manicure.
